Katherine Heigl discusses how growing up within a "white bubble" affected the way she parented her adopted family of multiracial origins. In recent episodes of "Firefly Lane", "Grey's Anatomy" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl admitted she was not concerned about the color of her skin until she got to know her adoptive sister from South Korea. "I asked Meg whether she felt that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and those who went out on her own. Meg responded "Oh, yes, every occasion!" Heigl said to her parents: "That was when I discovered how naive I resulted in me feeling." Her anger grew by the incident, and decided to use that anger to help her adopted daughters. Heigl has a four year old son and a 13-year-old spouse, Josh Kelley. They were adopted by Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, followed by Adalaide whom was eight years old old and is Black as of 2012.
