Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors, and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over a Century. She was the star of two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Her additional Broadway performances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and born in Denver and now lives in Los Angeles and New York.
