Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas famously known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed October 13 1980, on the shores of Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actor who hails from her native United States. Ashanti gained fame as a teenager. In 2002, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. In the same year, she made an appearance on Fat Joe's What's Luv? the song "What's Love?" by Fat Joe as well as Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them. Her hits include Foolish (number one) and the track What's Luv! She became the first female artist holding both the Top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 in America, with Foolish at number one, and then What's Love? Also, she was in the films Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. Her track Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch to accompany his track Baby on March 10 2022.
