Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy de-Domme, France on August 9, 1976. She is the eldest of four children. She was encouraged by parents, a dentist as well as a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her passion to perform in theatre. This was in contrast with her previous desire to be a primatologist due to the fact that she was fascinated by monkeys. The rise of her as a young actress was rapid and highlighted by her early successes. In 1998, following the completion of her education, she was able to participate in Jeunes Premiers which is the French TV talent-scouting programme sponsored by Canal+. She also received the award for Best Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to pursue a career in acting professionally. Tautou, who attended the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and was a student there in high school she has renounced her Catholic upbringing. Neben her acting, Tautou has also been a model and the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Her photography is also a love of hers and she has been exhibiting her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrity, fame and the press that scrutinized her after her rise to fame with Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her debut performance as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie has been a worldwide box office smash and was recognized by numerous international awards ceremonies. The film is still one of the top-performing French film across the US. After the release of this film, Tautou starred in many films ranging including British film to Jean Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. After that, she shifted to Hollywood and starred with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
