Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the oldest of four children. Audrey Tautou's parents, who are a dentist and a school teacher, have encouraged and supported her from the beginning of her enthusiasm for theater and drama. The initial goal of her to become a master monkey was soon replaced by a desire to further study drama and theatre. Success in the beginning and an immediate growth in popularity was a sign of her development as an actor. When she completed her education She was a participant in the French talent-scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. The show awarded her the best young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her career as an actress. Tautou was a student at an Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and studied there at school and has publicly disavowed her Catholic upbringing. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. The photography of her is also a passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Her work is mostly focused on celebrities and their fame. She also is focused on the journalists who scrutinised her in the wake of her rapid success with Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major part in the film Le Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box offices and was well-received by awards galas across the world. It's still the top grossing French language film in the US. In the years following the film, she appeared in various films, ranging in everything from British film to Jean Pierre Jeunet's long dimanche de fauncailles. Then she moved into Hollywood and was in the film with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
