Adams was the youngest of seven siblings who grew up when she was a kid in the city of Castle Rock, Colorado. Her birth was during the time that her father worked in the U.S. Military in Italy. At the beginning of 1990, Adams began dancing professionally for Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. Later, in Minnesota, at a local theatre, she was a selected to play a role in an unrealized documentary film about beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut as a screen actress was the bright, beautiful contestant. After that the move her home to Los Angeles in order to make a name for herself as an actress. Her husband was actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began after signing a MGM contract in the late 1940s. She was discovered by actress and model Norma shearer. The actress portrayed Norma in various popular films through the years, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in 1960, and Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film which was released in 1954.
